Folded or rolled, you can save space. Compared to a stuffed spinnaker, it takes up half the room this way. We now have five racing spinnakers, and several jibs, plus the cruising sails, (and three mains) we need to save space. If we ever went cruising again, and we weren't planning to come back, with our bigger sail inventory, it would take some creating packing to get all of them into the boat and put away, out of sight and off the cabin sole. We did it before for 55,000 miles, but now we have more sails. Guess we'll stay here.

The sail bags get old in a hurry. This zodiac bag (for the dingy) was completely redone about one year ago. The sun takes a lot out of it.

I can do a simple bag in one day. Complicated bags take about two days.

All the bags have bright colors and big code numbers. This makes it easier to quickly locate and hand up the right bag.

There are about 6 more sails in the storage locker, already in good bags, either new or ones I have already sewn or upgraded. Most of the sails themselves are also new or very good condition, and now all of them are in nice bags. They all look good.

Machine Stopped

We had a bag of parts but it only included things like bobbins, presser feet, drive belts, and cleaning tools. Only one part for the inside of the machine was included. It didn't come with the machine, I bought it at some time in the past, and I am not sure why, and don't even remember where or when I did it. But it was the only part I needed.

Adjusting the Needle and Hook

The rotary hook assembly must be locked perfectly in place with required clearances and rotational settings down to less than a millimeter, much less. It's called setting the timing. I am fairly good at it.
