Driving into Guanajuato

Narrow, slow, one way streets

Wow! What a cool hotel

The Hotel, Posada Santa Fe was built in 1862. Its owners made it into an art nuseum as well as a gracious hotel

Guanajuato's streets, dating from tht late 1700's, are narrow. An underground highway system was built.

The Basilica Colegiata de Nuestra Senora de Guanajuato Cathedral in Guanajuato Mexico was built in 1671. Inside there is a pipe organ. That pipe organ has 1098 pipes and itself was made in the late 1600's and is rarely played for the public. However we stumbled across an announcement for this special appearance and were able to enjoy this amazing playing and sound.The two organists playing in the organ loft were Guerreo Jaime and Perez Enriquez. We watched them on a projection screen.

Aquacalientes-And a real car problem

On an overpass on Aguacalientes the front end of the chrysler broke and I lost steering. Somehow I was able to slow the car without hitting the railing or any other cars and got down onto the surface street. I pulled over. The left front wheel was cocked at a crazy angle.

I got a tow truck and we towed the car to a nearby suspension shop. A quick inspection revealed a broken strut mount and a completely loose strut. Oh Oh!

Surprisingly a few hours later the car was fixed and we were on our way to Zacatecas. Yay!
