Final training against Jazzy II Second Place on Day 1
Day 2 is our favorite race, light upwind and strategically challinging, but we know the course and we did great (and finished first by 20 minutes).

wingssail images-tresa dean Celebration This was our best ever finish in the Banderas Bay Blast race (2) to Punta Mita. We demolished the fleet.

Now we had day three to do, the spinnaker run to Nuevo Vallarta and the wind howled at the start. We put up the big chute, put the pole to the head stay and had quite a ride. Hitting 12/7 knots which is the fastest we've gone since a delivery home from Victoria after Swiftsure in 1987.

Now the big spinnaker pulling towards home, 12.7 knots
We had a couple of roundups in the big 20+ puffs but once Ricardo started calling the puffs so I could head down a little, we held on quite well.
Now the Banderas Bay Blast os over, we have first place in the regatta, and the boat is in good shape for the next races even if I have some crew issues as several of my crew have burned out. They were here for BBB but most won't be here for the next big regattas. I could use a few more crew. My helpers have also departed, Rhonda and Renee, both great to have on the boat headed back to the cold north.

HAUL OUT

I've been wating to get the bent shaft replaced or straitned, and decided it was time to do it. The Old Prop Shaft
One surprise was when I went to drive my care back from the boAt yard, no Keys. I lost them. I also copuld not find Judy's spare set. So I hired the guys at the key shop and they made me a new set.
 BANDERAS BAY REGATTA

I've been sailing the Bandaeras Bay Regatta since 2015. This will be the tenth year. Alays good, always competitive. I have a good team, but we all miss Judy.

During the Regatta Wings was involved in a serious collision with another boat. Approaching the windward mark on starboard but not able to make the mark, the other boat tacked to port right in front of Wings, despite several hails of "Starboard". With only seconds to act, I tried to duck to avoid the collision, but the other boat then tried to tack back, making the collision inevitable. In a protest meeting chaired by an international judge Wings was totally exonerated. Video shot by a race committee mark boat

SETTING OFF TO THE SEA OF CORTEZ

There were lots of work to be done to fix Wings and change Wings' mode from race boat to cruiser, but we got it done with plenty of help from Wings' crew: Terry, Richard, David, Anna, Tim, and Rene
