Project Update
Our project goes on. After the aft cabin we now have been working on the forward cabin.

Meanwhile, on the deck:
We found a soft spot where the deck was a little bouncy. It wasn't big, and maybe it has been there a long time and we just didn't notice it, but when I did some testing I discovered a large area which was definitely bad inside. It has to be fixed.

When you find softness in the deck, you have to cut it out.

Here we have finished the fairing, primered and painted the deck, with antiskid compound, and installed the hatch. When we repaint the whole deck (next Project) it will finish this part.

So, onward with deck painting. First we painted the winch area near the cockpit.

We have a nice texture using Grip-Tex, hopefully this will keep all of our crew onboard this season.

The winch revision is complete: We moved the Barient 28 3-speed winches back to the main sheet and installed new (used) Barient 28 two speed winches for the secondaries. This will give us much more power and faster sheeting on the main, and the secondaries never needed to be 3-speed in the first place. In fact we originally had 2-speed winches there. Now we're just back to original.
In this photo the winch drum is sitting alongside the 2-speed winch waiting to be placed on the frame.
