Yole Sailing Regatta, Martinique
These are the smaller of two sizes of Yole racing boats heavily competed in Martinique. We didn't see the bigger, two masted versions, but these were exciting enough, and they sailed very hard. No rudder, No keel, and no ballast except the crew. Capsizes are permenent (until a tow to shore).

Hey there Fred,
The Yoles look like fun if I were thirty years younger. I continue part-time boat-building, until I get retired in a few months when I will become full-timer. Sheri and I will get out there in a few years. Until then, keep crankin' those sheets and keep me amused.
