Plying the Waters
Water Taxi
In the Phuket Area most of the water traffic is in these wooden long tail boats; they are ubiquitous. I rather liked them and I never tired of watching them cruise around with the propellor shooting out a roostertail behind. The problem is that they are noisy and the ones in Krabi are the worst: They have four cyl automobile engines and no mufflers, plus, the drivers run them at full throddle which makes them sound particularly obnoxious.
