Jellyfish landed

In Krabi Province we saw hundreds of fishing boats netting these large jellyfish. We heard variously that these creatures are eaten in China or used in cosmetics in Japan.

Either way, the work looked brutal: each jellyfish was about the size of a basketball, and about as heavy as the seawater they are filled with. The man in the bow spots the jellyfish, directs the driver towards it, dips the net in under the floating jellyfish then lifts it into the boat.
