Monkey was washed against the Breakwater.

Here we are sitting outside the surf zone.

At this time I did not know whose panga I had, Ralph had "borrowed" it and now I was using it. Nice boat though. Fun in the waves but the work was a desparate race against time.

This is what we see when the waves start coming. They get bigger in sequence. By this point we were in a hurry to get out.

The day was getting late, we worked as long as we could. This is what the Monkey looked like before it got dark and we had to leave.

By morning however, it was a total wreck. Keel gone, boat rolled, mast down, and big holes in the hull. It has also moved about 100' down the breakwater leaving a trail of debri.

In the calm morning we had no problem approaching the Monkey but sight was not pretty.

These people came out to do what they could. Mostly salvage and environmental clean-up
