Machine Stopped
MiracleWe had a bag of parts but it only included things like bobbins, presser feet, drive belts, and cleaning tools. Only one part for the inside of the machine was included. It didn't come with the machine, I bought it at some time in the past, and I am not sure why, and don't even remember where or when I did it. But it was the only part I needed.
Old and NewNotice the difference? At the top of the part there is a broken area on the old one (left)
Adjusting the Needle and HookThe rotary hook assembly must be locked perfectly in place with required clearances and rotational settings down to less than a millimeter, much less. It's called setting the timing. I am fairly good at it.

I am impressed with your dodger. A--you know how to sew. B--you can fix a sewing machine (when I don't even know how they work). C--That you can make a dodger that nice while only doing it four times in 20 some years. D--You can create a dodger without a large work table and set-up area that I have seen in the one canvas shop I have visted. I would guess that the apprentice in a sewing operation wouldn't get that close to that well done in with 6 tries in one year. My friend, a master upholsterer won't attempt boat work. "Too Difficult."
